How Much Time Do You Need for Dalyan from Fethiye? Ten or Eleven Hours

Updated October 17, 2026 · 4 min read

Wooden river boats moored along a reed-lined bank with hills in the distance

Dalyan from Fethiye is a full day: the two tours run 10 and 11 hours, and neither is a half-day trip. Plan to be out from morning to early evening. For most travellers the Dalyan Day Trip with Mud Bath and Turtle Beach (11 hours, 4.5 stars from 94 reviews) is the one to plan around; the Dalyan River Cruise, Mud Baths, and Beach Trip saves an hour (10 hours, 4.8 stars from 6 reviews).

Where the hours go

On the 11-hour tour the clock starts at your hotel. The booking page says the bus drives for almost 40 minutes to the starting point of the boat trip, and the return drive comes on top. A reviewer who set off from Ölüdeniz mentions an early pickup, and another says the transfers were long for some people. The river cruise, the mud baths, lunch and the beach fill the rest.

Start times are not published: the page asks you to check availability to see them. Do not fix the evening before you know your pickup slot.

What the one hour less does and does not mean

The 10-hour tour lists the same four stations: river cruise, rock tombs, mud baths and Iztuzu Beach, plus lunch. Its page does not break the day into minutes, so we cannot say where the hour is saved; it may be the drive. Ask the operator if beach time is what you care about. The page asks you to be at the hotel gate at least ten minutes before the scheduled pickup, which matters when the day starts early.

When this much time is a problem

Eleven hours of bus, boat and mud is long for small children or for anyone who tires of repeated boarding. One reviewer found the bus a little cramped for the length of the day, though praised the guide’s stories. Do not book a flight, a ferry or a dinner reservation for the evening of your trip, and keep the day after light.

If you would rather decide the hours yourself, a rental car from Discover Cars lets you set your own timetable, but none of the listings gives a driving time to Dalyan, so check it on a map before you commit.

Our recommendation

Block a whole day and book the Dalyan Day Trip with Mud Bath and Turtle Beach for the track record. Pick the 10-hour cruise and beach trip if one hour matters more to you than the much longer review history of the first tour. If you only have a few hours free, a different outing is the better choice.
