Kaş and Kaputaş from Fethiye: A Long Coast Day Without Kekova
Updated October 9, 2026 · 6 min read
The short answer. The Kaş, Kaputaş and Saklıkent tour from Fethiye and Ölüdeniz lasts 11 hours and starts at €76 per person. It combines the canyon, Kaş, a swim at Kaputaş and a viewpoint over Kalkan. Despite the broader route suggested by some coast itineraries, this booking does not list Kekova.
The route is ambitious
Saklıkent, Kaş and Kaputaş are three different experiences: a gorge walk, time in a harbour town and a small beach beneath cliffs. Kalkan is a panoramic stop rather than another full visit. The advantage is variety; the cost is that every stop runs to a timetable.
Ask for the planned order and time at each place. An 11-hour duration includes pickups, road travel, parking and the return. A late arrival is possible, so leave the evening free. Lunch, canyon admission, beach facilities and pickup zones should be checked on the booking page rather than assumed.
Saklıkent is not a simple pavement walk
Conditions inside the gorge change with water and weather. Even when the entrance section is open, continuing farther can involve cold flowing water and slippery, uneven ground. Wear secure footwear that can get wet and follow local closures. Turning around early is sensible, not a failed visit.
Travellers with limited mobility should ask exactly which section the group uses. A stop named “Saklıkent” does not guarantee that every participant can enter the same distance.
Kaş and Kaputaş need different expectations
Kaş is best used for a walk through the centre, harbour views and a meal or drink. With limited free time, choose one aim rather than shopping, swimming and archaeological sightseeing at once.
Kaputaş is a compact beach reached from the coast road by a substantial flight of steps. Access, waves and crowding can make a short swimming stop feel rushed. Bring only what you can carry easily, and do not treat a named swim stop as a guarantee when sea conditions are poor.
Why Kekova is not part of this day
Kekova is associated with boat trips around the sunken ruins, usually reached from the Kaş or Demre area. Adding a meaningful Kekova cruise to Saklıkent, Kaş and Kaputaş would require a different itinerary and more time. The current 11-hour tour does not name it in the title or description.
If Kekova is your priority, book an itinerary that explicitly includes the boat segment and departure point, or stay near Kaş. Do not infer it from the word “Kaş”.
Guided tour or independent car?
The guided day removes navigation, parking and the pressure of timing the return. It suits travellers who want the highlights and do not mind short, structured stops. Independent driving gives control over Kaş and Kaputaş but asks one person to handle a long, winding coast day and parking.
If you choose that option, compare cars for Fethiye and check the rental conditions, excess, deposit and fuel policy with the supplier. Do not add Kekova casually: it needs its own boat timing.
Our recommendation
For most first-time visitors wanting all three named stops without driving, choose the Kaş, Kaputaş and Saklıkent day trip. Stay near Kaş or build a separate day if Kekova is the real goal.
